There are high chances that you may have forgotten that tomorrow is the day…tomorrow is Monday..:the Monday which ends your long leave and vacation…after returning back to home..:sleeping all day except for lunch and waking up in the evening, if you feel like coming out of coma and don’t know where u r…then it means you have office tomorrow…your leave ends tomorrow…check the calendar and send a test mail to yourself and check the auto message…

In case your office mail is not setup on your phone and your laptop password is forgotten and you even forgot which company you work for…check your sms on who sent you the salary the latest…check your personal mail for the latest offer letter that and joining letter…search for your id card…most probably it would have been swallowed by the sofa…check for your company’s address on gmap and keep it ready…check your LinkedIn profile to confirm the company and what ur role is…and what ur skill sets are. Most probably the LinkedIn profile may not have been updated since many years..at least get the key words like physical design etc…in case you don’t seem to remember any of your team members or manager and your work space…first thing you need is to check your hierarchy…for that you need to straightway go to the IT team and get your laptop username and password updated…since ur id card is lost most probably…you may show your joining letter…immediately check your profile and who your manager is…what’s your role etc…the laptop may be looking very weird…try Cisco apps..:something will connect you to the server..none of the terminals may be open…check your email to figure out what you do and what you have been doing in the previous life…before you get on with unread mails some smart guy would have setup a meeting early Monday morning…use the universal gates like “yeah, cool, will get back, let me review internally or offline…” and manage the meeting…

Check if anyone in the meeting has an id card and check their names…try to hit on a conversation based on what they speak…if they r in the same category as you, it doesn’t help much…you may not remember the office inside and any of the ppl there…keep talking on phone and figure out what is where…keep a half smile just at the threshold and increase it based on the response…

Ping a few top guys in the teams and ask what’s happening and how things are…if anyone responds with some info, build the story…check every fourth unread mail and use all this info to build the SoC…who u r…it may take a few days of elaboration and synthesis before you get back to being the netlist…

  There is a void…sudden void…as if suddenly we r unplugged…the muscle memory, the dram memory, the cache automatically takes you to the laptop, the desk, the arena, the battle ground…that’s where you spent most of the last many months…that exact die area and power domain…that’s where so many things happened…every day, every hour and minute thinking of only one thing…the project, the closure, the tape out…every nerve net, every thought signal was on what all r the current problems and how to solve them..:convergence, congestion, timing, PV, going back, finding alternate solutions, discuss, debates, trials, runs, crashes, calls, meetings, many misses, like the edges with the new ball not carrying, when you put 128.4% into it…when we only talk about the project…any other talk is noise…when work outs, vacations, anything out of the project is a wide or a no ball…get back to the bowling crease and target the wickets…when even the spouse, kids talk of the timing and PV status…no idea wh...
